On Wisconsin

Here’s the Fight Song of the University of Wisconsin (Home of the Fighting Badgers); it’s sung to a tune we would all recognize.

On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Plunge right through that line!
* Run the ball clear down the field,
* A touchdown sure this time. (U rah rah)
On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Fight on for her fame
Fight! Fellows! – fight, fight, fight!
We’ll win this game.

On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Stand up, Badgers, sing!
“Forward” is our driving spirit,
Loyal voices ring.
On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Raise her glowing flame
Stand, Fellows, let us now
Salute her name!

With modified lyrics, it is also the state song:

On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Grand old Badger State!
We, your loyal sons and daughters,
Hail thee, good and great.
On, Wisconsin! On, Wisconsin!
Champion of the right,
“Forward”, our motto,
God will give thee might!

So, how should the song go after the last two weeks?

On, Wisconsin! Stand, Wisconsin!

Stand up for your rights!

Educators, workers all—

They’ve got you in their sights.

First, Wisconsin, then, Ohio,

Moving state to state,

Stand up for the working class

Before it is too late!

On, Wisconsin! March, Wisconsin!

Let the country know!

Busting unions is the

Motivation for this show.

On, Wisconsin! Stand, Wisconsin!

Stand up proud and true

Grateful to one and all

For all you do.

Wisconsin’s gov has now apparently persuaded school boards to send out wholesale termination slips. Let’s explore the meaning of “collusion”?
